1. The Owl and the Pussycat
The title of a frivolous poem by Edward Lear. Its initial publication was in 1871. It begins: 'The Owl and the Pussycat went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat', then goes on to tell of the talking bird and cat's wedding.

In the notably green Level 1 maggot room, Mellisandre asked Team 8 of Series 3, "Who went to sea in a beautiful pea-green boat?", and in a rare display of competence, the team's knowledge of Lear's poem enabled them to answer correctly. They earned a step clue, but never got far enough to make use of it.
